Sonia is well known both as a flower designer
and a grower. Join her in the Civic Center
Lecture Hall for 2 sessions on how to make
a fresh flower arrangement. You'll leave with
your own arrangement as well as the knowledge
of how to make others. Sonia is the owner of Through
the Garden Gate in Newport, ME. She has
been very active in the Garden Club Federation
of Maine and is currently the New England Regional
Director for the National Garden Club. $5.00

Man”, a Maine Discovery Museum's natural history
educator.. Sohms has brought his science programs
to audiences from Seattle to Searsport, along
with his infectious enthusiasm for anything that
creeps, crawls, slithers, hops or flies.

with Native Plants
Julie Beckford and her husband, Pete, of Rebel
Hill Farm in Clifton, Me., have grown perennials
in the field and wholesaled them since 1991.Their
plants are certified organic and their emphasis
is on plants native to Eastern North America.
Julie will explain the ecological concepts of "native" and "invasive".
You will become aware of the connections between
your garden and the surrounding natural environment.
She'll help gardeners preserve the beauty in
their gardens.
